6. Training and support: CS agents get all the training and support they need to do their job and develop their work skills. From SaaS apps to negotiation skills and anything in between, all is provided by the companies that will hire you. Plus, there is constant support, as team leaders and support agents are always there to help you help customers!
7. Personal and career growth: CSA jobs are the perfect way to develop all sorts of soft and transferable skills that will be invaluable in your career, whether you choose to remain at customer service and advance there, or pursue other paths. Skills such as effective communication, efficient problem solving, win-win negotiation, troubleshooting, and many many more acquired, and honed, while working at a CSA position, can make any resume shine!
8. Sense of work ownership: in today’s interconnected world it is hard to find a job that gives a clear sense of ownership. Not so in customer service: here not only you become the face of the company, but you can also see how you contribute to its bottom line and how many people you actually help each day – giving you a rare sense of achievement, daily!
9. Work that stays at work: CSA work is not busywork, and sometimes is not easy either. But, it is a job you can actually log off from when the work day is done. And that means that, contrary to other tertiary sector jobs that stay with you throughout the rest of the day, once you clock out, you can forget about it, relax, recharge and focus on whatever else is important to you.
10. You actually help people: this is an often overlooked fact, but CS agents actually help people and this is something that generates a great sense of satisfaction! Whether it is resetting a router, returning a purchase, or selecting a suitable holiday package, people will come to you with an issue and you will be the one helping them solve it. It is no small feat when you think about it: you are making someone else’s life better, easier, maybe even happier! So kudos to you, for a job well done!
As if all these reasons are not enough to pursue a CSA job, we have one more: the salaries!
In Greece right now, multilingual customer service agents’ salaries start at €1300 gross for a full time position (this is double the minimum wage) – more if one of the languages you speak are in high demand, such as german. Plus, you get all the bonuses and benefits stipulated by greek law: social security contributions, Christmas, Easter and summer bonuses, annual leaves and overtime / out of regular working hours shifts pay!
